MAKE A CHANGE
Our History
Our Story
OUR VALUES
Children, young people and adults should feel safe and be as they want to be. The fundamental values embraced by our values are in line with the values on which our society rests.
- Openness, respect, solidarity and responsibility
- Individual’s freedom and integrity
We want to create an understanding that all people have equal values regardless of social background, gender, ethnicity, religion or other beliefs, sexual orientation or disabilities.
HOW MANY PEOPLE WORK AT MAKE A CHANGE
Today we are 15 people working in the organization. We have no employees because we want to keep all costs down as much as possible. Instead we are using consultants working based on our assignments. Because of that we can place a larger share of the funds collected where they belong – the continuing fight against bullying!
The Board members works entirely on a non-profit basis and has no salarys linked to their work.
WHAT IS OUR EXPERIENCE WHEN IT COMES TO BULLYING?
Within Make a Change there are both people who have been bullied and others who have been bullies. There are also people with key knowledge for the organization to be able to evolve and make changes in the best way. All people who actively work on the field have broad experience of bullying – violation issues, equal treatment and work with children, adolescents and adults in different ways.
HOW CAN YOU COLLABORATE WITH MAKE A CHANGE?
Our mission is to be the collective force against bullying. Therefore, we are open to collaborations whether you are a lecturer, private person, association, company or school.
Please contact us and present yourself more and we will together look into how we can cooperate.
DOES MAKE A CHANGE HAVE A 90-ACCOUNT?
As for today Make a Change has no connected 90-account. We intend that at least 75% of the total revenue should go back to the cause. Nor shall the administrative costs exceed 25% of the funds collected. Any investments made in the association shall also be ethical and financially justifiable in relation to the economic conditions of the association.
HOW DO MAKE A CHANGE USE THE CONTRIBUTIONS?
Make a Change is a non-profit organization. We are funded through support from companies, foundations, individuals and campaigns, and through fees for the lectures and courses we conduct. The funds collected enable us to spread knowledge and engage more children and adults on issues related to our mental well-being in our society. Some of the funds collected are also used to carry out various projects to highlight the problems of bullying and exclusion in new innovative ways.
Our Board members and ambassadors are working entirely voluntarily without fees and compensation. Since all those who work in the organization are scattered throughout the country, we have also chosen not to have a permanent office that devours large portions of the funds collected. Here we collaborate with different companies who offers subsidized office locations for our administrative work.

GEOGRAPHICAL FOCUS
We are currently located in Stockholm and in Malmö. As the interest of our work is high, our mission is to establish ourselves in several places in the future – we prioritize being able to be fully physically in place when we establish ourselves in a new location. Today, however, we are already working mobile across several countries.
We are also always accessible via Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Linkedin.
VISION & AUDIENCE
Make a Change vision is a society where people accept each other’s differences and treat eachother with love and respect.
Our audience is children, adolescents and adults online, at school, in society and in workplaces.
ACTIVITIES & PROJECTS
We have great focus on making a difference here and now, communicating in new ways and creating dialogue and debate. All with a common goal – to influence society and people’s willingness to engage in the work against bullying.
Through lectures we educate schools, companies and sports clubs all over the country together with people who have a story to tell. We also develop educational materials – digitally and in print and offer several support functions. The common denominator is that we want to share our knowledge and experience with focus on the areas of bullying and exclusion.
We believe that collaboration is the key to change.
MISSION STATEMENT
We work in parallel with several different projects, here you can read about some of our milestones:
1. During 2021 we will start our Fight back support function. A digital app that lets you, for example, can receive personal support and increased knowledge about how to manage and counteract bullying. The app will be available free of charge through the app Store and Google Play. Our goal is to have 10 000 registered people under 2021-2022. To achieve this figure, the app will be communicated in over 500 schools in Q1-Q2, 2021.
2. During 2019 we have started up our support centre for adults where our first milestone third quarter 2021 is to establish support functions with availability 24/7. The support centre will offer support via telephone, chat and email via trained volunteers. To achieve this milestone, we are actively working with the recruitment of volunteers across the country through the volunteer agency.
3. In 2020-2021, another milestone is to start up 3 local associations throughout Sweden. We are currently working in Lulea. We have several inquiries from Malmö, Gothenburg, Kalmar and Östersund. This association network is built up in collaboration with Vuxenskolan, which has long and broad experience in building sustainable associations.
